Getting to Know You!

Sweet, sweet Alma tagged me with a 'Getting to Know You' questionaire! YAY!

1.  What is your favorite time of day to run? Why?
I love to run right after work.  It doubles as my decompress & exercise time.  I am NOT a morning person and really hate running in the mornings - even if I eat I feel sick the rest of the day. :(

2. If you could have any job in the world what would it be?
If it had to be a job, probably something related to crafts or knitting.  I'd like to collate craft ideas and write a blog or something (ala Pioneer Woman with cooking).  I get so many comments on the projects I take on - but there are secrets!  I want to share them!  It's not as hard as it looks!

3. Do you have a guilty food pleasure?  (i.e what is your favorite empty calorie food)
I have two vices - ice cream & beer/wine.  Put ice cream near me and it just apparates into my belly.  There's no stopping me.  (Thing I am most looking forward to on our cruise?  Soft serve machine!)

Being in the Seattle area spoils me with micro-brews and wines.  When I was 21, I wouldn't even go near 'bad' beer like Bud Light or Coors.  I was a strict Mac & Jacks or Manny's girl.  Now I enjoy the bad stuff when tailgating, but love love love a northwest crafted beer or wine.  My favorite wine?  Chateau Ste. Michelle's Cellermaster's Reisling.  NOM NOM NOM.

4. How and/or why did you start running?
My sister mentioned she was joining a Couch-to-5k class and asked if I wanted to join.  I declined, knowing that I had never run in my ENTIRE life.  Then, it turned into a competitive thing.  Why had I given up on never running?  What if I actually liked it?  I took my first class, repeated the entire 6 week class, and then headed off on my own last spring.

5. Do you have any special Christmas time traditions?
We gave up on eating Christmas dinner years ago - we always had 'noshing' foods around and were all stuffed by the time dinner rolled around.  (Plus, my grandma hated cooking on Christmas day!)  Now, we have our big dinner on New Year's day.  I personally LOVE kicking off the new year with my closest family around me.

6. What race/event are you most looking forward to in 2011?
All that's on my calendar right now is the Seattle RnR Half in June.  I'd like to do a few 5k's this spring (where I will PR!)  and a 10k.  I always forget to sign up for races...need to be more committed this year!

  1. I always run in the evenings (unless I'm racing!) but lately the evening runs have been hard compared to when I have ran in the mornings. I SOOO wish I could be a morning person and just get it over with first thing.

  2. Hey, I love these posts! Thanks for sharing :)
I was always a morning runner myself - but I recently discovered the joy of running after work. It totally is good decompression time - it's a great stress-reliever!
Good luck with training for the half and getting your PRs this year!

  3. Hmmm. Same vices: ice cream and microbrew.

Thanks for tagging me. That's twice now so I guess I should get on it.

OH and your little bags WERE super cute except for the tag...

  4. Yeah! Did you know I have a genetic polymorphism that makes it a necessity for me to eat ice cream on a regular basis? Yes, it's true. If I don't eat ice cream, I start having symptoms like Turrets. It's really ugly. Hence, the 45 lbs I gained while pregnant :)
