I'm baaaaaaaack.

Hello!  I haven't posted in months.  I know, bad blogger.  Frankly, I was pissed about not being able to run or exercise, plus work flew out of control in the fall.

Now, life is even crazier than ever.  Why?  Well, because I got engaged over the holidays. :)

I'm sure I've mentioned it at some point before, but Mike and I have been together for a long time.  Like almost 8.5 years long time.  So while it's not a shock we're getting married the engagement itself was a complete surprise.  Good job Mike!

So how's the rest of me doing?  Well, I got released from physical therapy for the ankle in mid December after nearly 3 months of going 2x/week.  I started doing the C25k program again before Christmas...but then got a really amazing, intensive bootcamp from Christmas!  It's M,T,W from 6:30-7:30pm outside, in the dark and mud, and 9:30-10:30am on Saturday mornings.  Yeah.  Four hours.  A week.  Ooooof.  I won't lie, I couldn't stand up properly after the first week.

So!  Wedding!  Bootcamp!

Now, confession time.

2012 was deemed the year of the 'final push'.  The final push of the last 40 lbs I wanted to lose.  I made the push from 230+ to 185 during 2010, then spent 2011 running and toning up.  I was the smallest size I had ever been, but still hovered between 183 and 185, even while tracking every calorie and running 25 mi/ week and actively trying to lose lbs.

I don't want to run much on my frame with the weight it's at now.  I can't get hurt and spend future months laid up like I did in 2012.  Is this slightly irrational to correlate my weight with injuries that came from underdeveloped muscles and a giant-ass rock in a path?  Yeah.  But running is what, 80% mental?  90%?  It's in my head and now I can't get it out.

My plan is bootcamp.  Some cardio.  I joined the gym across from my work (I can creep on it from my desk...that's it on the first floor of this building, the view from my desk!)

They have rowing machines, weight machines, ellipticals...basically everything I need.  And now?  It's all to fit into a wedding dress.  Nothing will make you put down the Nutella or wine like that thought.  OOF.

After wedding?  Running.  Halfs.  Maybe a relay.  Until September 2012?  Mission lose weight.

  4. CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!! So happy for you & Mike. I've always wanted to try a boot camp - report on how it goes, please. Also, if you're looking for a break from running but need a good blast, can't recommend enough Jillian Michaels. But I think you already do her DVDs?
